Aidan McCarthy, Founder of Noise London

Aidan McCarthy set up NOISE London with three friends, with the aim of taking sound in film in better, more creative directions.Upon graduating from the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham Aidan, along with friends Karl Manzer, Jeff Richardson and Rowan Jennings, set up Noise London, an audio post production company which specialises in high value socially responsible documentaries. Although still relatively young, Noise London is an exciting, highly innovative and creative company which has been involved in numerous high-profile documentaries: they were proud to be nominated for an Emmy in 2006 for Outstanding Made for TV Movie, The Flight that Fought Back (about Flight 93 where the passengers refused to give in to the 9/11 hijackers and literally fought back, averting an even bigger disaster). Recently, Noise London provided post production for the Panorama on Scientology and Simon Schama’s Power of Art. They also worked with David Attenborough on Are We Changing the Planet?

Aidan is also an ambassador for the Make Your Mark in Film, inspiring young people to get involved in film – “It’s about having an idea and making it happen.” Aidan is passionate about his work and this is infectious. He finished the sound for Waiting at the Gate earlier this summer and has kindly agreed to come along to the film festival to talk about this, together with Rocky, the film’s director.
