
Jude Gomila (born June 23, 1984) is a British entrepreneur and one of the co-founders of the website Heyzap. Gomila grew up in Harrow, London and attended Nower Hill High School, Middlesex and Dr Challoner’s Grammar School in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. He then graduated from Gonville and Caius College, University of Cambridge with a Masters in Engineering and Management.
During his final year at University, Gomila started Sugar Global, an electronics brand specialising in the sale of digital photo frames to UK stores such as Harrods, Selfridges & Co, Amazon.com & Firebox.com. Sugar Global products were featured in the What Hi-Fi Magazine’s Expo 2007. Gomila then went on to create Helpthirst.com in 2008, a charity website which provides water for World Vision.
The following year, along with fellow-Londoner Immad Akhund, Gomila founded casual gaming website Heyzap.com. The site launched in January 2009 and has received funding from a number of investors including Y Combinator, the founder of del.icio.us Joshua Schachter and Union Square Ventures, who have funded Twitter, Etsy, Disqus and Zynga.Heyzap.com offers a self-service system that allows the user to embed any game from its library on his or her website or blog, with the aim of keeping customers on websites for longer and encouraging them to return.
Gomila blogs about business, is a mentor for Seedcamp and has also conducted interviews for intruders.tv in the past, interviewing web entrepreneurs such as Kevin Rose, Jessica Mah, Werner Vogels and Khris Loux.
