Behind Inspiring Young People

Jun Taoka - Web Editor
My name is Jun. I graduated from university in 2009 and found myself lost having realised student life isn’t a true reflection of the real world. Sigh. Dismayed at this revelation, I found this colourful website full of the amazing achievements of young people. I’m really excited that I now have an outlet for my writing and look forward to contributing to this project. I wish to pursue a career in journalism and I hope by working with IYP, some of the inspiration here will rub off on me, as I’m sure it will do for you.

Naweed Shams, Publisher, Editor In Chief
My name is Naweed Shams, I live in London and would class myself as a young entrepreneur, already owning two start-ups at the age of 20. I have a lot more planned with many ventures waiting to be started up.
In early 2009 I started an inspirational web magazine for aspiring young people named “Inspiring Young People” (soon to be IypMag.com). It is aimed at promoting the brighter side to youth culture. We concentrate on spreading the word of young entrepreneurs and business minded individuals aspiring to be a success. We’re launching a printed magazine in March 2010.
In late 2009 I started up Visit Local, a visual rich directory for independent businesses in the UK. I’ve since been working on the business development from the ground up. Visit Local produces video advertising for businesses to showcase their products/services to a greater audience on the web, integrating social media to create a viral marketing craze between online users. Visit Local is still going strong gaining more recognition and recommendations the larger it grows.

Jake Hanrahan, Web Editor
Hello. I’m a 20-year-old gym supervisor by day and a freelance-writer by night.
I currently work for IYP and will be an editor of the online and offline magazine soon to launch. I’ve not a great deal of work under my belt due to the only recent realisation that I’ve an inclination for freelance writing, however I hope to build up a wondrous portfolio of rag articles and sophisticated pieces alike.
If you’d like to contact me for work or anything else please select from the links below and I’ll get back to you.
